Immunological Disorder Treatment

Our immune system has many functions, the most important of which is fighting viral and bacterial infections. Recurrent infections could be malfunctions of the immune system; sinusitis, otitis, and pneumonia are the most common presentations of a dysfunctional immune system.

The most common diagnoses of immune deficiencies are selective IgA deficiency, hypogammaglobulinemia, common variable immunodeficiency, and selective IgG subclass deficiency.

Evaluation of immune dysfunction requires extensive lab work. Management of any of the above immune deficiencies requires adjustments to one’s lifestyle, medication, and replacement of immunoglobulins.
